A note from Chad

The hardest part of closing wasn’t the decision. It was figuring out where to send the people who’ve trusted us with their skiing for four decades. I wasn’t going to hand you off to a website or a big-box store where nobody knows your kid’s boot size or what you skied last season.

So I went to the shop I’d send my own family to: Sno‑Haus. Family owned. Serving Long Island skiers since 1959. Experienced ski and snowboard staff. Real boot fitting. In-house tune and service shop. A large seasonal rental program run by people who fit gear for a living, and one of the deepest winter inventories on the Island — 90+ brands, most you won’t find anywhere else nearby. They’ll know your name by the second visit — the same way we tried to.

That’s why they’re the only shop we’re recommending. And to welcome you: if you rented a season package with us last winter, your eligible basic 2026/27 seasonal rental at Sno‑Haus Huntington is free. That was their idea, not mine.

Custom boot fitting

Shell fitting, footbeds, punches and grinds. The things you can’t buy online.

In-house tune shop

Stone grinding, edge work, base repair and hot wax. Done on site, not shipped out.

Junior season leases

Skis, boots and poles for the season, sized to your kid and swapped as they grow.

Bring your skis, snowboard, or boots to Sno‑Haus Huntington Station when they reopen for winter on September 12, 2026. Return your Snow Shed rental there, or roll it into the 2026/27 season on the spot. No late fees on eligible Snow Shed equipment brought back before October 15, 2026.

Yes. After 44 years, we’re closing our doors. Rather than leaving our customers without a shop, we chose Sno‑Haus — the shop we trust to take care of you — and worked with them to put a program in place for our longtime seasonal renters.
Why Sno‑Haus specifically?
Because they run a shop the way we tried to. Family owned. Serving Long Island skiers since 1959. Real boot fitting, in-house tune and service, an experienced seasonal rental program, and one of the deepest winter inventories on the Island. If you were happy at Snow Shed, you’ll be at home at Sno‑Haus. That’s why they’re the only shop we’re recommending.
Who qualifies for the free 2026/27 seasonal rental?
The offer is for anyone who personally completed a seasonal ski or snowboard rental with Snow Shed during the 2025/26 season. Eligible customers can receive a basic 2026/27 seasonal rental at Sno‑Haus Huntington Station at no rental charge; a refundable deposit and standard program terms still apply. Where do I return my Snow Shed rental gear?
Bring it to Sno‑Haus Huntington Station (2 W Jericho Turnpike, Huntington Station, NY 11746) when they reopen for winter on September 12, 2026. You can return your gear or roll it into the 2026/27 season right there.
What’s the return deadline?
October 15, 2026. No late fees apply to eligible Snow Shed rental equipment returned to Sno‑Haus Huntington Station on or before that date.
What about a warranty on gear I bought at Snow Shed?
Manufacturer warranties travel with the gear. Sno‑Haus can help you file a claim on any brand they carry — bring the gear and any proof of purchase you still have.
What does Sno‑Haus offer beyond the rental program?
Custom boot fitting, in-house ski and snowboard service (stone grinding, edge work, base repair, hot wax), junior season leases, adult and junior daily and seasonal rentals, and a full winter retail floor across skis, snowboards, boots, outerwear, base layers, goggles, gloves, helmets, and accessories — 90+ winter brands in total.

Yes. Huntington Station is closest to Snow Shed — about 30 minutes west on 347 — and it’s where the Snow Shed rental returns and the free 2026/27 rental program are handled. Sno‑Haus also has locations in Greenvale and Hempstead if either is closer for you for general shopping, service, or non-Snow-Shed rentals.
I shopped at Snow Shed but never rented. Am I still welcome?
Absolutely. The free-rental offer is for former Snow Shed seasonal renters, but Sno‑Haus welcomes every Snow Shed customer. Their standard adult and junior seasonal packages, daily rentals, boot fitting, tune shop, and retail floor are open to everyone.
