A note from Chad

The hardest part of closing wasn’t the decision. It was figuring out where to send the people who’ve trusted us with their skiing for the last four decades. I wasn’t going to hand you off to a website or a big-box store where nobody knows your kid’s boot size or what you skied last season.

So I went to the shop I’d send my own family to: Sno‑Haus. Family owned. Outfitting Long Island skiers since 1959. They tune skis in-house. They fit boots properly. They’ll know your name by the second visit — the same way we tried to.

It’s about half an hour west on 347. It’s worth the drive.

Where we’re sending you

Sno‑Haus Ski Shop

Family owned. Outfitting Long Island skiers since 1959. Three locations, one very large ski wall, expertly curated clothing and accessories, and people behind the counter who ski and snowboard.

Same values as Snow Shed

Family owned. Real bootfitting, not a size chart. Staff who actually ski what they sell. This is who we’d send our own family to.

Custom boot fitting

Shell fitting, footbeds, punches and grinds. The thing you can’t buy online.

In-house tune shop

Stone grinding, edge work, base repair and hot wax. Done on site, not shipped out.

Common questions

What about my…

…season lease? Do I have to return it by a certain date?
Any Snow Shed season lease can be brought back to any Sno‑Haus location once they open for the season in September 2026. There are no late fees on gear brought back this fall. If you can’t get it there before then, call the closest store or email hello@snohaus.com and they’ll work something out.
…warranty on skis, boots or outerwear I bought at Snow Shed?
Manufacturer warranties travel with the gear, not the shop. Sno‑Haus can help you file a warranty claim on any brand they also carry — bring the gear and any proof of purchase you still have.
Why Sno‑Haus specifically? Why not just anywhere?
Because they run the shop the way we ran ours. Family owned. In-house tune shop, not shipped out. Real bootfitting — shells, footbeds, punches, grinds. Staff who ski what they sell, and 90+ brands you won’t find at a big-box store. If you were happy at Snow Shed, you’ll be happy at Sno‑Haus. That’s why they’re the only shop we’re recommending.

Something else? Call the closest Sno‑Haus store — Huntington Sta. at (631) 549‑5087 — or come in when they open in September.
